MJPRU Chemical Engineering Department Achieves 90% Placement Rate, Marks Major Milestone

Bareilly: The Department of Chemical Engineering at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, has achieved an impressive 90 percent placement rate for the academic session 2025–26, with students securing positions in leading core-sector companies. The achievement has been hailed as a significant milestone for both the department and the university.

Speaking to media representatives, Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh expressed pride in the accomplishment, describing it as a reflection of the quality of education, industry-oriented training, and collaborative efforts undertaken by the university.

“This outstanding placement record demonstrates the strength of our academic programmes and the dedication of our faculty members. It is a matter of great satisfaction to see our students securing opportunities in reputed companies,” he said.

Department Leadership Credited for Success

The success has been widely attributed to the efforts of Dr. M.S. Karuna, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, whose focus on industry-relevant education, skill development, industrial exposure, guest lectures, and personalized career guidance helped prepare students for the corporate sector.

Under his leadership, the department adopted a student-centric approach aimed at bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. The department’s guiding principle, “Placement Service is Service to Society,” has remained central to its training and development initiatives.

Reacting to the achievement, Dr. Karuna said the milestone was the result of the hard work of students, the commitment of faculty members, and the support of the university administration.

“Believing in students and providing them with the right guidance can help them overcome any challenge. This achievement belongs to every member of the department, and we remain committed to maintaining a student-first approach in the years ahead,” he said.

University Leadership Applauds Achievement

Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh congratulated the students and praised the department for achieving one of the highest placement rates in recent years.

“The 90 percent placement rate is a testament to the academic excellence and professional training being imparted at the university. Dr. M.S. Karuna’s dedication and leadership have played a crucial role in taking the department to new heights. This achievement is only the beginning of a larger journey toward excellence,” he said.

Collective Effort Behind the Achievement

University officials noted that the success was made possible through the combined efforts of academic leaders, faculty members, placement coordinators, administrative staff, student volunteers, and corporate recruiters.

Among those acknowledged for their contributions were Dean Prof. Archana Gupta, Academic Dean Prof. S.K. Pandey, Training and Placement Officer Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh, former Dean Prof. Shobhana Singh, former TPO Prof. Vinay Rishiwal, former faculty member Dr. Harish Kumar, and the department’s teaching and non-teaching staff.

The university also expressed gratitude to the human resource teams of participating companies for placing their confidence in MJPRU graduates.

Department Continues Legacy of Excellence

Established in 1998, the Department of Chemical Engineering has emerged as one of the leading centres of technical education in the Rohilkhand region. Known for its well-equipped laboratories and industry-integrated curriculum, the department has consistently produced graduates who have gone on to build successful careers in multinational corporations, research and development organisations, and public sector enterprises.

University officials said the department remains committed to further strengthening industry partnerships, enhancing practical training opportunities, and achieving even higher placement outcomes in the future.

The achievement reinforces MJPRU’s growing reputation as a centre for quality technical education and highlights the university’s efforts to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in an increasingly competitive professional environment.
